Hello friend!
As we savor the warmth of mid-summer, I can't help but dream about destinations that offer a perfect escape from the winter chill that will be just around the corner. This month, we're setting our sights on the vibrant and diverse landscapes of Argentina.
My curiosity with Argentina began in the sixth grade when I started exchanging letters with a school-assigned pen pal from Buenos Aires. Over the years, we shared stories about our everyday lives and cultures. I still have an Argentine peso tucked away in my keepsakes box. A few years ago, the pen pal and I reconnected on Facebook, which reignited my curiosity for Argentina.
Imagine strolling through the colorful streets of Buenos Aires, where the scent of sizzling asado fills the air and the sounds of tango music spill from hidden milongas. Or sipping world-class Malbec in Mendoza, surrounded by sun-drenched vineyards with the majestic Andes as your backdrop. From the thundering waters of Iguazu Falls to the rugged beauty of Patagonia, Argentina in summer offers a perfect blend of urban sophistication and natural wonders for northerners looking to escape the chill of winter.
Thinking of trading in your winter coat for your finest hiking gear or vineyard wear, friend? As we enter the second half of 2024, it's time to start thinking seriously about getting your winter plans in place! And if you’re still unsure about where to go next, why not try my "Where to Go Next?" quiz? It’s a fun way to get inspired and discover your next dream destination.
Stay curious,

Wondering when to visit?
Â
Argentina is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on your interests and the regions you plan to explore. Summer (December to February) is ideal for visiting Patagonia and the Lake District, with long days and mild temperatures perfect for outdoor activities. However, this is also peak tourist season in popular areas.
Â
For a more tranquil experience with pleasant weather, consider visiting in spring (September to November) or autumn (March to May). You'll enjoy smaller crowds and the beauty of blooming jacaranda trees or fall foliage in wine country.
Â
Winter (June to August) is excellent for skiing in the Andes and viewing wildlife in Peninsula Valdés. It's also the perfect time to explore the northern regions and Iguazu Falls, where temperatures remain warm.
